Desiree Montalvo, Teach Asst.

I am 14 years old and began dancing at Stepping Out Studios when I was 2 ½ years old. At that time I started with Ballet and went on to take tap classes for 3 years. I have now danced for 11 ½ years and enjoy every minute I can move my body to the beat of music. Throughout my years I have gone on to study Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Pointe, and Chechetti. I have taken more than 1 class at a time in several of these styles. During these years I have been in several dance productions such as The Night in Shining Stars, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, The Wizard of Oz, Lady and the Tramp, Candy Man, Tribute to Shirley Temple, A Day at the Drive In, Circus Danza, and several others. I have also performed in The Nutcracker for 4 years as well as many community performances. In addition to dancing I love to perform on stage as an actor. Some of the several productions have been Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, and several Christmas plays. I was very active with sports as well, but my true overall love is for dance. I returned to Stepping Out Studios approximately 2 years ago to continue dancing as I was preparing to have surgery on my foot. I wanted to return to the studio where I first began my love and interest for dance. I felt the need to return to Stepping Out Studios because I realized they gave me my first dance steps and I did not want to lose site of what was important to me with dance. I continued to dance as much as possible through that tough time. Throughout this process what I found at Stepping Out Studios was not only love for my instructors but also a part of my soul that started my talent and love for dance with their love of teaching me.
